2nd Trimester – Week 13

You’re in your second trimester now, and the days have flown by.

You will be holding your baby close in just six months, taking in their tiny sounds and inhaling that wonderful newborn scent.

Not only have the days gone by, but so have the most difficult, uncomfortable weeks. Compared with the first trimester, the next phase will be more comfortable and energizing.

You can now eat more comfortably, but don’t overindulge. Now, the objective is to gain weight in a healthy and steady manner.

Additionally, because the uterus is growing and moving upward and no longer fits inside the pelvic region, you may begin to notice stretch marks on your abdomen.

Because some women may have bleeding or swollen gums, use an alcohol-free mouthwash and brush gently in circular, vertical motions with a soft-bristled toothbrush.

Week 13 Tips

Learn to spot warning signs so you can take prompt action if necessary and ask your doctor about any possible complications that might develop in the upcoming weeks.

Don’t wait to make an appointment; the second trimester is usually thought to be the safest time to see a dentist and have any dental problems treated.
