3rd Trimester – week 32

At this point, your baby weighs between 1.8 and 2.3 kg and measures about 42.5 cm, or the size of papaya.

Except for the brain and lungs, the majority of the baby’s organs are now functionally developed.

The baby’s skin resembles the newborn’s skin because of the fat buildup that causes it to lose its transparency.

Additionally, your infant is now practicing sucking, which is a necessary skill for postpartum feeding.

Vitamin K After Birth

Health authorities recommend giving your baby Vitamin K within 24 hours of birth to protect against a rare bleeding condition called Vitamin K Deficiency Bleeding, which could lead to brain damage or even death.

Vitamin K is usually given as an injection in the thigh, but if you prefer the oral version, you have the right to request it.

To determine what’s best for your unborn child, consult your partner and your doctor.
