2nd Trimester – week 25

At 25 weeks, your baby is growing quickly, his Length around 33–34.6 cm, about the size of a zucchini, and his weight between 0.7 to 0.8 kg.

What’s New This Week?

Your baby is gaining body fat, making the skin look less wrinkled, and hair is starting to grow. Skin color appears pink because of tiny capillaries developing under the skin.

The nostrils and nose begin working this week, allowing practice breathing of amniotic fluid. Your baby may even start to sense different smells inside the womb.

During sleep, most time is spent in REM (rapid eye movement) sleep, a stage linked to dreaming. Loud noises might startle your baby, so you may feel a sudden jump inside your belly.
