What are the benefits of breastfeeding for the baby?

Breastfeeding provides many benefits for the baby, such as:

  • Complete nutrition with a perfect balance that meets the baby’s needs at every stage.
  • Strengthens immunity, protecting against infections, diarrhea, and some chronic diseases such as diabetes and obesity.
  • Supports brain development and enhances cognitive abilities, in addition to strengthening the emotional bond between mother and child.
  • Reduces the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).

The World Health Organization recommends exclusive breastfeeding during the first six months, then continuing breastfeeding up to two years or more according to the child’s needs and the mother’s wishes.
