Your baby is growing quickly and is now about the size of a grape, around 10 mm, almost double the size from last week.
- The cartilage that will form arms and legs is developing.
- Limb buds are lengthening, and webbed hands and feet are starting to appear.
- The elbows and knees are beginning to take shape.
- Reproductive organs are forming, though it’s too early to tell the sex.
- Facial features are becoming more defined:
- The ears, mouth, tongue, and nostrils are forming.
- Eyelids and eye lenses are also developing.
The baby’s brain is growing rapidly, so the head is larger than the rest of the body, and about 100 new brain cells are forming every minute.
