How do I know if my child is being bullied?

Bullying can be a serious problem. Watch for these warning signs:

  • Fear or refusal to go to school.
  • Unexplained injuries or damaged belongings.
  • Frequent headaches or stomachaches.
  • Avoiding friends or school activities.
  • Changes in eating or sleeping patterns.
  • Lower self-esteem and feelings of helplessness.
  • Sudden drop in grades.
  • Withdrawal from social situations and reluctance to talk about their day.
  • Acting out bullying behavior toward siblings or friends.
