Cow’s milk is not recommended as a main drink before 12 months of age. Small amounts can be used in preparing food, but breast milk or formula remains the best option during this stage.
Cow’s milk is not suitable for infants because:

- It has a high protein and mineral content, which can burden the baby’s immature kidneys.
- It may cause iron deficiency and increase the risk of anemia.
