At week 37, your baby measures about 48–49 cm in length, about the length of a leek, and weighs around 2.7–3.2 kg. Your baby continues to gain about half an ounce (14 g) per day.
Your little one may now make random facial expressions, such as smiling or frowning. Some babies are born with just fine fuzz, while others have hair up to 1–3 cm long.
Because space in the uterus is limited, kicks may become less frequent, while stretching and rolling become more noticeable. Your baby is also storing more fat, creating dimples on the elbows, knees, and shoulders, and small folds around the wrists and neck.
