There are important steps you can take to support your partner and prepare for your baby’s arrival as the pregnancy progresses, including getting your home ready for the baby’s safety.

Preparation should begin now. While your baby won’t be moving around the house right away, creating a safe environment will give both of you peace of mind later. You can secure your home by following these steps:  

  • Keep vertical cords and vertical blinds out of reach  
  • Place safety plastic covers on electrical outlets  
  • Secure heavy furniture and TVs to the wall to prevent them from tipping over 
  • Place safety tags on cabinets that contain cleaning products or sharp tools  
  • Remove any sharp edges from tables and furniture, or use corner protectors designed for babies  
  • Store swallable or breakable items in high
